Squad Equipment

To every session that you attend, you should bring the correct equipment to make sure that the session can be carried out effectively.

Too many people turn up without floats, pull buoys, goggles, bottles.

So this will hopefully give you guideline of what is required for each squad.

National & District

  • Swimmers should wear a drag costume for girls and Drag shorts for boys
  • Float
  • Pull Buoy
  • Fins (Short, not long fins. Long Fins are bad for technique)
  • Hand Paddles (NOT finger paddles). The hand paddles should be shaped to the hand and be only slightly bigger than the size of your hand.
  • 2 pairs of goggles, if you keep a spare pair in your mesh bag or bring it on poolside it will save a lot of time that is wasted by going to get another pair out of your bag.
  • 2x 1L bottles, one to drink during the session and one to drink on the way home and to be finished at home. You should drink either water or squash, NOT lucazade or powerade or fizzy drinks.
You shouldn’t turn up at the pool and buy a drink from the vending machine.
  • For land training you should be dressed appropriately in shorts & t-shirt.

Senior Club & Junior Club

  • Float
  • Pull Buoy
  • Fins (Short, not long fins. Long Fins are bad for technique)
  • 2 pairs of goggles, if you keep a spare pair in your mesh bag or bring it on poolside it will save a lot of time that is wasted by going to get another pair out of your bag.
  • A 1L bottle, to drink during the session. You should drink either water or squash, NOT lucazade or powerade or fizzy drinks.
You shouldn’t turn up at the pool and buy a drink from the vending machine.

County & County Junior

  • Float
The swimmer should drink some on the way to the pool and finish what is left on the way home in the car, as obviously to drink a litre of liquid will result in a rush to the toilet half way through the session so if it is staggered it will be far more effective for the swimmer.

Club Galas

  • Swimmers are asked to wear black trunks/Costume, a Warriors hat and have a club top.

All of the equipment enlisted above is available from our club shop or if we do not have it currently in stock we will order it in.

If there any specific queries as to which style of fins or hand paddles to get do not hesitate to ask myself and I will be happy to help.
